Happy Friday everyone. This week we are thankful for the cooler weather – managing sensory differences is much easier when we have a cool breeze coming through our classroom windows.
This week our OT has visited to observe some of our new starters to develop school based sensory diets.
If you have received a consent form, please complete it & return it ASAP to get our support up and running.
Our swimming pool opened this week. Please ensure you familiarise yourself with the class timetable and send your child’s swim kit in weekly. For KS2 pupils (who do not require a hydrotherapy pool), our swimming offer differs slightly as the pupils access the local leisure centre, Energise. Your class teachers will inform you of when your child will receive this offer and gain permission for this weekly visit.
As many of you know, snack is an important time for many pupils, certainly our ‘pupil voice’ would not want us to change our twice daily snack offer! However, as food prices increase, we need to be mindful of our in-school offer. Please see Parent Pay to provide your contribution for snack provision. If you would prefer to send your child’s snack choices into school in their packed lunches, please do so and liaise with the class teacher. Our school offer consists of dry items such as breadsticks and rice cakes, and soft options such as snap and dissolve crisps, & smooth yoghurts.
I hope you are all enjoying your tapestry evidence as much as I am. Already there are so many examples of building meaningful relationships. Nicky Ellis and I popped to Applefields to check in with our Y7s this morning. It was so heart-warming to be greeted with smiles, hugs and conversations from so many of our leavers. A very lovely way to end our second week of the Autumn term.
Next week is my final week in work (as long as baby agrees, I’m currently 37 weeks!) Sarah Taylor is covering my maternity leave. We have worked closely together to ensure we have a smooth transition to ensure the school builds on it’s strengths throughout the academic year.
