Headteacher Update 24th November 2023

Dear Parents and Carers,

Over the last two weeks members of the leadership team have been in many of the classrooms across school for learning looks. It has been wonderful to see the progression and development of our school curriculum and classroom learning environments.  We have seen the children learning and engaging within the classroom and focused teacher activities. We have seen lessons such as phonics, sound poetry, science and maths to name a few.

A big thank you to Shona, Wendy and Sarah S, who have been delivering some in-house training for Makaton and Moving and Handling over the  last few weeks . We really benefit from having them within our school as trainers to train our school team, although our more recent training also included colleagues from other schools.

Over the last few weeks we have seen an increase in children being unwell at school, which in turn has led to staff absence. Please remember that if your child has sickness or diarrhea, then they should be off school for 48 hours following their last bout of sickness or diarrhea. All families received our Hob Moor Oaks HERO Attendance information when their child joined school in September, or during the last academic year. This details illnesses and, if necessary, the time children will need to be off school.

We look forward to welcoming families to Parents Evening on Tuesday 28th and Wednesday 29th November; this will be held in the hall. If you would like to meet with our Wellbeing Team in addition to your meeting with the class teacher, please let your child’s class teacher know and they will speak with the team about this.

Have a lovely weekend; hopefully the sun will continue to shine.
