The weeks are just going by so quickly. It doesn’t seem like three weeks since we returned to school.
Orchard Phase had some special visitors in school this week – Acomb Fire Brigade brought in one of their fire engines! It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to experience the fire engine up close. Some children tried on helmets and some even sat inside the actual engine! Thank you to Paula and Wendy for organising this wonderful visit.
Please see the letter coming home to book your seats for “Hob Moor Oaks at the Musicals!” It is important that we know how many family members will be attending so that we can plan our seating. There will be no Golden Leaf assembly on Friday 9th February due to the performance.
This week Wendy, from Seedlings Class, has been on a MOVE Trainer Training course. Several classes use MOVE and work towards developing independent movement. As a school we celebrate pupils progress in their physical development skills during the summer term. We are excited to hear all about the course when Wendy returns to school on Monday.
Just a reminder that if your child is unwell and not coming into school then you need to contact the school office on 01904 806655 stating the reason for their absence. We shared a message earlier this week about cases of whooping cough in school. The first signs of whooping cough are similar to a cold, however the symptoms do change after a week. If your child is unwell with symptoms of whooping cough, please seek medical advice from a GP. Whooping cough is contagious but can be treated with antibiotics. Please note that pupils must remain off school for a minimum of 48 hours from starting antibiotics if it is a confirmed case of whooping cough.
