Headteacher Update 8th March 2024

What a busy day it has been at HMO today with World Book Day and our “Special Ladies” afternoon.

This morning in assembly, classes showcased their outfits and chosen class texts. We also watched the final instalment of “The Masked Reader 2024”. So far we have listened to stories from “Transformer”, “Gorilla” and “Unicorn”. Today’s masked reader was “Tiger” reading “The Tiger Who Came to Tea”.

It has been lovely to welcome so many of our pupils “Special Ladies” in school. There has been lots of wonderful activities taking place from crafts, to baking, to tea parties. I hope those of you who were able to join us had a fantastic time with your children, and had time to chat with other parents.

This week we’ve seen Woodland Phase representing school during their trip to Pizza Express at the Designer Outlet. There are more trips planned over the next few weeks and class teachers will liaise with parents about these visits.

Just a special mention to Richard Carter in Trunks. Richard has been     working on his Teacher Training apprenticeship for the last 18 months, both in Hob Moor Oaks and Hob Moor Primary. This week, Richard has found out that he has gained his Qualified Teacher Status! Richard has worked amazingly hard throughout this time and thoroughly deserves this status. Congratulations Richard, everyone at HMO is so proud of you!. You have put a tremendous amount of effort & dedication into your training and your role in school.

Friday 15th March is Comic Relief “Do Something Funny for Money” so it will be a non-uniform day. Why not dress in RED to celebrate Red Nose Day!

Finally, remember to book your Parents Evening slot with your child’s class teacher via the care diary!

Wishing you all a lovely weekend.
