Dear Parents and Carers,
It has been another busy time at Hob Moor Oaks. I can’t believe that next week is the final five days of the half term.
Over the last few days, Forest Phase have been out to visit the Yorkshire Wildlife Park as part of their topic “Animal Kingdom”. It has been lovely to see the photos and hear the feedback from both pupils and staff. Next week Woodland Phase will be visiting Monk Park Farm as part of their “Grow Your Own” topic.
This Thursday, we had a performance of “Alice in Wonderland” by M&M productions. This was a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to experience a show in a relaxed, familiar environment, with songs, music and a theatre set they have previously experienced in school.
Also on Thursday, we hosted a Maths Mastery Workshop linked to the Maths Hub and scheme which we work within. We are really keen to work with the team and support the creation of a maths programme for children with SEN. As part of the visit, we hosted colleagues from other special schools across Yorkshire, including Brooklands Community Special School, Danesgate School, Welburn Hall School, Mowbray School and Kings Mill School. We hope that these new links with the maths team will also build up our relationships with other special schools. There were so many positive comments and praise about our school, provision and, of course, our pupils and staff. Thank you to Mhairi and Charlotte, our Maths Subject Leaders, for their work on this project.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
