Headteacher Update 7th June 2024

Welcome back everyone. I hope you all had a lovely half term holiday.

This week the children have been introduced to their new half term key stage topics of “I like to move it, move it”, “Rocking all over the world” and “‘How my body can move”. Classes will be sharing their newsletters for the Summer 2 term shortly, along with planning for their final visits of the year.

In assembly, we shared the book “Super Duper You”, a story about what makes us unique.

Invitations to our “Special Men In Our Lives” celebrations were sent out via ParentHub before half term. This invite is for all the important male role models in our children’s lives. Please ensure that you let your child’s class teacher know who will be attending so we are aware of who to expect on the day. Also, remember to let your child’s transport team know if you will be taking your child home after the event.

Just a little reminder that on Saturday 13th July, one of our fantastic pupils, Sam in Boughs, is taking on his second hiking challenge. He is raising money to help fund new equipment/technology that will support all of our  amazing pupils in Hob Moor Oaks, including his younger brother Joshy, in Twigs. This year, Sam is taking on Kinder Scout – the highest peak in the Peak District. This challenge will involve hiking across 6 miles and up 2 000 ft. It is an estimated 15 000+ steps and will take over 3 hours to complete. Should you wish to donate/sponsor Sam, here is the fundraising page:- Crowdfunding to support Hob Moor Oaks Academy on JustGiving                                                                                                                                                                       If any children/parents would like to join Sam, and take on this challenge for Hobs Moor Oaks, then please contact his Dad, Ray Lane, by email rlane1981@hotmail.co.uk

Have a lovely weekend.
