Headteacher Update 21st June 2024

Dear Parents & Carers.

What a wonderful change it has been to see the sunshine this week! Please remember to apply sun cream before your child leaves for school, and send in a bottle so the class teams can top up over the day. Don’t forget that children can wear summer school uniform, and we encourage them to have it on to help them keep cool in our warm classrooms.

This week, our classes have started to prepare for Sports Day. Phases have been going out onto the field to practice the races as well as familiarise new children with the space & routines, along with waiting & watching their peers taking part. We look forward to welcoming families to the event on the 5th July.

In school on Thursday, pupils in Woodland Phase enjoyed a drumming workshop as part of their topic “Ignition”. They listened to lots of different types of drums and  enjoyed playing them to a beat as well as fast, slow, loud and quiet. They also took the opportunity to dance and move in between.

On Wednesday, we waved off our second group of Year 6 pupils to Lea Green, and on Monday next week, our final group will go. Stream walking, canoeing , completing the low ropes, zip wire and equilibrium challenge are a few of the activities our children can participate in whilst on their visit there.

As we approach the end of the school year, if you have any school uniform which is in good condition, please send it in and our Wellbeing Team will add it to our stock. Likewise, should you require any school uniform for next year, please let your child’s class teacher, or the Wellbeing Team, know and we will try to help.

Just a reminder that next Friday 28th June is a Training Day and school will be closed.

Wishing you a wonderfully sunny weekend.
