Catkins

Welcome to Catkins class

Staff in our class are….  

  • Teacher – Richard Carter
  • Teaching Assistants – Zoe Collins and Emma Hopkinson.

We have two Midday Care Assistants, Meena Marshall and Ruth Pannell, who help our children at lunchtime.

Important information about our class 

In Catkins class we believe that learning together is growing together 

  • Swimming on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon.
  • Mhairi’s ECT time will be covered by HLTA Dan who will be leading PE on Tuesday afternoons
  • Mhairi PPA will be covered by HLTA Molly who will be leading Expressive Arts and Design on a Thursday morning.
  • Messy sessions will take place throughout the week including art and baking. If you would like to protect school uniform from paint, messy play etc. Please send in some old clothes for your child to wear on these days.

Through the week all pupils will experience a wide range of topics to develop their knowledge and understanding across the curriculum.  You will receive a termly newsletter and class timetable to understand these areas better.

Care Diary – This is a great communication tool to share brief accounts of the school day, your child’s evening or morning. Please use this tool to support relationships and effective communication with class teams. Contact via the care diary will be made daily by the class team to explain the content of your child’s day. 

Tapestry & Home Learning – All pupils have an online Tapestry learning journal. Staff will evidence and share learning experiences on a weekly basis. We invite parents to post and share the home learning experiences that take place during the week, weekends and holidays. Please contact us if you are experiencing problems with this.
