Together we grow!

At Hob Moor Oaks Academy, we believe that our pupils thrive when they are deeply connected to a supportive and vibrant community. This page highlights how we engage with and value our community, and how you can be a part of it.

Our six core values are supported by the following community priorities:

  • Inclusion & Belonging: We strive to create a world where every individual feels valued and included. Our community partnerships help break down barriers, build understanding, and ensure our pupils feel a true sense of belonging.
  • Real-World Learning: The community offers a dynamic classroom beyond our walls. It provides invaluable opportunities for our pupils to develop essential life skills, practise social interactions, and gain practical experiences in authentic settings.
  • Support & Resources: Our community provides a network of resources, services, and opportunities that enhance the support we offer to our students and their families.
  • Empowering Futures: By engaging with the community, our pupils gain confidence, build independence, and develop the skills necessary for a successful transition into adulthood and active participation in society.

Max Card

Do you know you can apply for a discount card to support your access to family outings, without the fear of additional costs due to carers supporting your child? Visit the York Local Offer website to apply for a Max Card.

The Max Card is a national discount initiative for looked after children and children with special educational needs and disabilities. It enables families to visit over 800 attractions nationwide at a discounted rate. More than 32,000 families are already benefiting from the scheme, using their Max Card to gain discounted admission into exciting venues such as Alton Towers, Tenpin Bowling, Legoland and Go Ape.
